East London has this brilliant mix of history and creativity. You’ve got venues that have been transformed from their original uses – tram sheds, music halls, scout huts, churches, factories – into incredible spaces for celebrations. They’re intimate, they’re interesting, and they let you do things your way.
Plus, the whole area has this relaxed, creative vibe that suits couples who want something a bit different.
The Clapton Country Club
Let’s start with my favorite (and yes, I’m biased – I got married here myself!). Once a depot for horse-drawn trams, The Clapton Country Club is now a converted old tram shed, and it’s brilliant.
Medium-sized, not at all stuffy, with this wonderful industrial-meets-intimate feel. You can make it completely your own, and there’s this natural ease to the space that makes everyone feel comfortable. Perfect for couples who want creativity without pretension.
Wiltons Music Hall
If you want theatrical history, Wiltons is your place. It’s one of the world’s oldest surviving music halls, and stepping inside feels like walking into another era. The atmosphere is incredible – think exposed brick, original features, and a space that’s hosted performances since 1859.
It’s got that perfect balance of grandeur and intimacy, and the history seeps through every corner. Perfect if you love storytelling and want a venue that tells its own story too.
Shoreditch Studios
A unique East London warehouse venue has tonnes of space, consisting of two connected ‘blank canvas’ studios with high ceilings and white cove feature walls. The venue also comes with a huge courtyard with views of the city. It’s dry hire, so you have total freedom to work with creatives of your choice, including me as I’m a recommended suppler here too.
GODS OWN JUNKYARD
Walthamstow houses one of Europe’s largest collections of Vintage Neons and signs. I am a preferred supplier at this venue that seats approx 60. Come and have your dazzling Neon-lit ceremony, with me as we can create something truly special.

Planning Your East London Wedding
If you’re considering an East London wedding, here’s what I’d suggest:
Visit the venues in person if you can. Photos are great, but you need to feel the space.
Do the acoustics work?
Is the lighting right?
Can you imagine your people there?
Check what’s included and what you need to bring in. Some venues are fully equipped; others give you freedom to bring your own suppliers.
And most importantly – make sure the venue feels like you. I’m not a stately home gal, so choose a venue that reflects who you are.
